I cannot download BBC 3 radio programs anymore, like this one: [www.bbc.co.uk] (Mozart's La finta giardiniera). FDR says: ERROR.
I am using FDR 0.9u4 and BBC plugin 1.2.0. I am in The Netherlands.
TV programs are working fine, be it that I have to manually choose Limelight each time.

Hello ! smiling smiley

I am on WinVista SP2 32bit, JRE 7u67 (x86) installed
and running latest version 0.9u4 of FRD.
With the most up-to-date version (1.2.2) of the bbc plugin,
I have these settings checked:

Preferred quality level: 480p
Preferred RTMP port: 1935 (default)
Preferred CDN: Limelight
Enable Tor: YES
Download Subtitles: YES
(I am physically outside the UK... winking smiley )

When I attempted to download this TV show:

Later... with Jools Holland - Series 45 - Episode 2

the video itself did download successfully (after my third try, because the Tor plugin isn't very reliable these days with the
BBC geo-filter mechanisms... moody smiley ), however I ended up with an EMPTY subtitles file:

"Later... with Jools Holland - Series 45 - Episode 2.srt" (size 0 bytes).

The episode is in fact subtitled, as can be verified on the proper iPlayer page if the "S" switch is turned ON;
the actual URL of the raw subs (ttml format, .xml extension) is the following:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/subtitles/ng/modav/p026pyv2_b04jtzhv_1411774239323.xml
I suspect something went wrong during the conversion to .srt format;
could one of the devs please investigate this?
Hugely grateful in anticipation spinning smiley sticking its tongue out
Many thanks to tong2shot for maintaining a working BBC iplayer plugin! thumbs up

EDIT: It may or may not be related, but surely something fishy is going on
with the subs server:
when I try to load in a Firefox tab the aforementioned subs URL, i.e.

Later... with Jools Holland - Series 45 - Episode 2

Firefox offers to save the .xml file instead of displaying it in the tab...??? confused smiley
On the contrary, when I try to load in a Firefox tab the raw subs of this next episode:

Later... with Jools Holland - Series 45 Live - Episode 3

which are found here, the subs are displayed normally in the tab.

So, possibly it is a server issue, not a plugin one...

EDIT No2: It is now ca. 15:15 GMT of Wed Oct 1st 2014 and the server issue has rectified itself;
indeed, the problematic subs URL does load successfully in a Fx tab and when I attempted
a re-download of the corresponding TV show (b04jtzj1), FRD saved this time a non-empty .srt file ( sized 24.5 KB ).

Many apologies for the false alarm eye rolling smiley - the beeb was to blame angry smiley ...

Cheers

Good morning!

Today I cannot download BBC's TV- nor Radio-programs. Yesterday all was fine.
FRD says: Waiting --> Getting --> ERROR.

I am using FDR 0.9u4 and BBC-plugin 1.2.2, wich I manually set to Limelight.
I tried all different settings but nothing works, so I suspect BBC made some changes again.

Take these for instance:
TV:
[www.bbc.co.uk]
Radio:
[www.bbc.co.uk]

Log attached.

Could someone please look into this? Thanks.

NOTE: I STARTED COMPOSING THIS POST SOME 2 HOURS AGO, LONG BEFORE
tong2shot's LATEST REPLY; BECAUSE OF A PROBLEM WITH MY ISP, INTERNET
CONNECTION WAS LOST sad smiley, ONLY TO RETURN SOME MINUTES AGO.
I DECIDED TO POST IT ON THE FORUMS REGARDLESS, FOR REFERENCE...
(apologies for the caps)

Hello winking smiley

When you place your cursor above the word "ERROR" in the "Est. time" column,
what does the tooltip say in detail?

> Take these for instance:
> TV: Sound of Cinema: The Music that Made the Movies: 2. Pop Goes the Soundtrack

> Could someone please look into this?

I first made sure that iPlayer itself is in working order;
I configured Firefox to use a (working) UK http proxy and attempted
to watch the programme online; all went fine and I got the stream to
start via the Limelight CDN (see attachment "b03b965y.ll.jpg")
I then tried FRD 0.9u4 with bbc.frp 1.2.2 (with the following settings:

Preferred quality level: 480p
Preferred RTMP port: 1935 (default)
Preferred CDN: Limelight
Enable Tor: YES
Download Subtitles: YES )

but upon several tries I got the dreaded:
"Not available in your country"message;
it appears that the Tor plugin today is not working at all for BBC angry smiley
Maybe even more UK Tor nodes got blacklisted...
I then configured FRD to use the same UK http proxy as with
my Firefox test earlier, and I can report I was met with success,
see attachment "FRD-bbc122-TV.jpg".

So you must find a working UK proxy and retry the download...tongue sticking out smiley

> Radio: Choral Evensong: New College, Oxford

When I click that link you posted, I get:

Quote

i: This episode will be available soon

So FRD can't download an unavailable show.
Tip: When Tor plugin fails like today, you can always disable it
and download from your Dutch IP the international version of an
available Radio programme; this is only HE-AACv2@48kbps
and a far cry from the UK one (AAC-LC@320kbps), but better
have this than nothing...

Greetings to The Netherlands!

The default "SWF URL" on the iPlayer pages has been changed to:
http://emp.bbci.co.uk/emp/SMPf/1.9.36/StandardMediaPlayerChromelessFlash.swf
Note to the devs: I'd be cautious and not implement this on all CDNs - Limelight CDNs (for overseas users)
continue to work reliably with the older format, but in the past did suffer from connection issues when an
updated format of the "SWF URL" was implemented (see: One of my previous posts)

Regards
