@tong2shot:

I just have downloaded http://play.iprima.cz/tajemstvi-zeme-vesmiru/cestovani-cervi-dirou-s-morganem-freemanem-i-6

GREAT! Works smoothly. Only I had to swith from HD to High - HD didnt work - perhaps the HD isnt available on server.
Now I'm satisfied thanks to your credit!

Maybe - if you wanted you'd add a kind of automatics into plugin - automatically turn the highest possible quality provided the HD is set, or the like.

Thank you once more!
Regards

The feature you described already supported. The plugin will automatically switch to High, if HD is not found. So you don't have to switch from HD to High manually.

Can you describe the "HD didnt work"? Is there any error message? Is there something interesting in the log (Help->Browser to log file)?

I used link mentioned above: http://play.iprima.cz/tajemstvi-zeme-vesmiru/cestovani-cervi-dirou-s-morganem-freemanem-i-6
If I set HD: file "Cestování červí dírou s Morganem Freemanem I (6).flv" has been loaded down with size 687kB, the file contains an error msg in czech: "An error has occurred, please try again later".
The log file isnt IMHO interesting at all - contains only 1 row:
"Mon May 11 19:49:58 CEST 2015 WARNING: Couldn't create fir C:\Program Files\FreeRapid-0.9u4\config"
The folder cannot be created because it already exists.
When I set High, download passes.

Thanks for your interest. Regards ...

@pozoun (Please READ ALL THE POSTwinking smiley !)

It's very hard to make geo-blocked iprima.cz content play from outside the Czech Republic sad smiley
I have tried many Czech HTTP proxies (from Free CZ proxy list)
both in a browser & in FRD itself, all I can get is a small FLV file (video message)
that informs me "content is unavailable due to rights restrictions"...
Moreover, in contrast to UK, US & CA, there are no FREE VPNs with Czech IP
available (although many paid for ones came up in searches....), which could've
provided a means to defeat geo-location and further debug your case...
(FWIW, I had come across a Czech node some weeks ago in the
VPN Gate Network (VPN Gate), but no luck recently...).

1) Is your video actually available in HD (check the embedded player settings)?
2) Does it play fine in a web browser (e.g. Firefox) with latest Flash plugin?
3) Are you in any way capable to tell the streaming protocol they use for HD?
(RTMP or AppleHLS or even AdobeHDS?).
4) Can you try to use RTMPdumphelper to record the HD version?
Please use rtmpdump+rtmpsrv from KSV (rtmpdump-2.4-win32-binaries).
KSV's mod of rtmpsrv outputs the detected rtmpdump command into a
"commands.txt" file. If you are successful in starting a HD download,
it would be very helpful for the devs to attach the generated "commands.txt" file.
If FRD can download the HQ version, there's a strong likelihood
the HD file is also streamed over RTMP...

@tong2shot:

My non-geoblocked sample link a few posts above was not available in HD;
when I conducted my experiments, the main video (in HQ/LQ) was streamed over RTMP;
now (201505112203Z) I find that the same video file is streamed over HTTP in AppleHLS format!
I guess they must've changed protocol!
I have successfully found another non-geoblocked programme available in HD:
TOP STAR magazín 2015 (15)
Asking manually for the HD variant and with the aid of
Firefox's Web Console, I identified the HLS m3u8 URL to be:
http://bcastmw.livebox.cz/iprima_token/_definst_/hq/Prima-1504061239-64323_1500.mp4/playlist.m3u8?auth=_any_|1431396641|b6f57d55d7fa09f1bc7ab5cbfa426479cd9a5879

For as long as the token remains valid, this should record with FFmpeg like this:

ffmpeg -re -i "http://bcastmw.livebox.cz/iprima_token/_definst_/hq/Prima-1504061239-64323_1500.mp4/playlist.m3u8?auth=_any_|1431396641|b6f57d55d7fa09f1bc7ab5cbfa426479cd9a5879" -c:v copy -c:a copy -bsf:a aac_adtstoasc Prima-1504061239-64323_1500.mp4

My tests with a recent (2.6.2) build of FFmpeg have proved this already...
So, if posoun's geo-blocked HD version has also switched to AppleHLS,
I fear the iprima.cz FRD plugin should be re-written from scratch to use
the applehls FRD plugin, not the RTMP one...

Regards to both...

I did some further tests with my second sample link
that I know for sure is available in HD:
I can totally replicate posoun's findings, i.e.
If the v1.2.2. plugin is configured to fetch "HD",
I get the small video message saying:

Došlo k chybě zkuste to prosím později.

If I manually change the plugin's settings to "High",
FRD successfully downloads the "HQ" variant...

This is definitely the way to solve this...
Pozoun, you surely owe me and tong2shot some beer money smileys with beer
Cheers

Hi, just being curious (I'm not at all in a hurry here):
Does this actually have a roadmap,
or isn't it possible yet with current applehls plugin?
I just wanted to know about the fate of my findings...

Many cheers

Ah yes, sorry about that. I've been experimenting with RTMP (in general, not just for iPrima plugin). And I found videos from iPrima that are relatively small (~5 min videos), and I can test them without proxy. I have slow connection, so it's easier to test with small videos. I've figured out the solution, just need some more tests with bigger video size. And I plan to do the same thing with adobeHDS and appleHLS later.

I'll take a look at this (iPrima with appleHLS) in the evening.

Thanks for the findings & informative posts.

Okay, please try plugin v1.2.3. It still uses RTMP for HD.

1.2.3 works with HD. I tried it on http://play.iprima.cz/odkaz-davnych-civilizaci/staroveke-objevy-v-1

THANKS - now i'm happy, GREAT WORK. Cheers

I echo pozoun's comments thumbs up
I tried it on my 45min non-geoblocked
sample programme and worked fine for
HD (as well as for lower qualities)!

OT: I do not understand the language,
but some very fine looking young ladies
there! cool smileyspinning smiley sticking its tongue out

It appears their HLS tests as the main
delivery method for desktop browsers
have stopped - when I view in desktop
Firefox, they again stream via RTMP for
all quality variants (???).
If I emulate a mobile browser user agent,
sometimes RTMP is used, other times I get
a "master HLS playlist" in the following form:
Language: XML
http://bcastnw.livebox.cz/iprima_token/smil:Prima-1504061239-64323.smil/playlist.m3u8?auth=_any_|1431844294|d1e250efdd224a0d15d93a5f8eea25eab45b4aa0
so different to the one I posted previously
When this master playlist is viewed in an editor, you get three
individual stream details:
Language: XML
#EXTM3U #EXT-X-VERSION:3 #EXT-X-STREAM-INF:PROGRAM-ID=1,BANDWIDTH=1638000,RESOLUTION=854x480 chunklist_w314516152_b1638000.m3u8?auth=_any_%7C1431844294%7Cd1e250efdd224a0d15d93a5f8eea25eab45b4aa0 #EXT-X-STREAM-INF:PROGRAM-ID=1,BANDWIDTH=936000,RESOLUTION=640x360 chunklist_w314516152_b936000.m3u8?auth=_any_%7C1431844294%7Cd1e250efdd224a0d15d93a5f8eea25eab45b4aa0 #EXT-X-STREAM-INF:PROGRAM-ID=1,BANDWIDTH=500000,RESOLUTION=512x288 chunklist_w314516152_b500000.m3u8?auth=_any_%7C1431844294%7Cd1e250efdd224a0d15d93a5f8eea25eab45b4aa0
but HD is not among them...
The current trend is for websites to move away from RTMP
to HTTP streaming methods, so it's highly probable they'll
eventually switch to HLS/HDS - but I guess that bridge would
have to be crossed when we find it in our path...
