If it possible, hope to have a plugin for www.nbcnews.com, with its subtitles.

thanks a million for the great work !
It works well !

The subtitles can also be downloaded by using the plugin.
Now I'm wondering how I can get the subtitles in lower-case letters rather than capitalized ones?

What's more , the function to get subtitles can also be added to the plugin for www.nbc.com?
Sample link :

nbcnews provides direct links to the video & subtitle files
nbc provides multiple video & subtitle stream segments
I don't understand how the video is currently downloaded, or how subs could be added

the links can be gotten.
Take this show as an example

The show address is :

and while it plays, a link leading to its video and subtitles can be found:
[link.theplatform.com]

After opening it, a file of about 17k can be gotten.

Could a plugin be worked out with the help of the example?
Thanks a million!

Thanks for the plugin of nbc 2.0!!
And thank you very much for your timely response !

While I was using the plungin for nbcnews(NOT for nbc), to get the video and subtitles down, I found if I ticked the box before subtitles ,(Not subtitles only), when the job was done, only subtiltes were left with no video.
FRD did download the video in the first place, but at the last second, the video itself just disappeared and only subtitles were left .How strange!

@birchie: The "tryDownloadAndSaveFile" method can only be called once IIRC, else the file which is downloaded previously will be replaced by the subsequence "tryDownloadAndSaveFile" method call. Take a look at "SubtitleDownloader" class for dailymotion plugin, to download subtitle silently.

The plugin for dailymotion seems no longer to be of use.
The site for dailymotion has been swifted into [www.cc.com].
Could a fix available?

Besides, when I last time used the plugin to download the video from dailymotion.com, for each episode, I always got more than 3 clips. Appearently, the full episode was made up of these clips.

Could the plugin offer the function to combine these clips into one entire file---the full episode ?
What about the subtitles being combined into a whole file too?

Thanks for any help, and any attention.

@chancemimi: Please open a new topic for the dailymotion plugin issue, with sample link. DailyMotion plugin works fine for me.

As for "subtitles being combined into a whole file too", it's not possible at this moment. And I think it won't be supported in the future either. There are probably a lot of apps for this purpose out there, and maybe some of them can be automated (with script, this way you can just right click/shortcut click on some folder, and voila.. you'll get media+subtitle file combined). I've never tried. Besides what's wrong with separate subtitle file anyway?
