FRD on HiDpi displays
January 20, 2014 07:33PM
Hello,
since issue tracker is not available to me due to some permission error I would like to submit a feature request by using the forum.

The only issue I'm experiencing with FRD on my lenovo Yoga2 laptop is readiness of FRD for hidpi displays.

The table of files being downloaded is moreless ok, but the toolbars on top and on bottom are not very convenient to read (icons, text under icons).. Also the icons in the toolbar of settings window are very small and text unreadable.

Can you think of some improvements on this matter? Thanks.

I googled a bit and tested on my laptop. It appears that hi-dpi support in Swing is look-and-feel dependent. The "Substance" look-and-feels support hi-dpi – try choosing one of them in Options > Preferences > UI Settings.

edit: Oh, I re-read your post, and it indeed appears that not everything in the user interface is correctly scaled. It's probably because certain sizes are fixed. These should probably be corrected.
