FRD plugin settings not saved with Java 1.6.0.45
June 17, 2015 02:22PM
Once i upgraded my Java to the latest 6 version 1.6.0.45, the plugin settings are not being saved.
When I reopen the FRD again, plugins use their default settings again.
The FRD itself stores its "main" settings OK, the problem applies only to (all) plugins.

Has anyone this kind of problem, or a tip to solve it?

Thank you.

Here is a sample content of my YouTubeSettings.xml:

Language: XML
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <java version="1.6.0_45" class="java.beans.XMLDecoder"> <object class="cz.vity.freerapid.plugins.services.youtube.YouTubeSettingsConfig"/> </java>

Java 6 has not been supported by Oracle for several years. Some FRD features already require a newer version and we are not testing on Java 6 anymore. Is it possible to update to a newer version?

I had Java 7 installed before, but it required much more memory to run than v6 on my older PC (WinXP+1GB RAM), so I downgraded...

OK, I upgraded to 1.7.0.80 and the problem is solved.

I have the same problem with the newest Java 8. (Mac OS X)

When I click saving, then it somehow blinks as it was refreshed.

Could you attach YouTubeSettings.xml (if any) and the log file (Help > Browse to log file) after trying to save the settings?
