Bug when sending text file to TI-89/Titanium

Hello. I don't know if anyone of us are aware of this bug: well, when I sent the text files from your program to my TI-89T, such as font size, I do know that it can be changable fonts on the computer, but not on the TI-89T. For example:

Text size 1
Text size 2
Text size 3

Math Expression:
(d=sqrt((y2-Y1)^2+(x2-x1)^2)

This is what it looks like in my calculator file (disregard second block from above):

#1This is text size 1.#2
This is text size 2.
#3This is text size 3.#2

Sample Math Expression:
&E(703.1*lb)/(in2)

Where "#1" should have changed the font size smaller than the built-in TI-89/T's regular file size, "#3" font size should have been bigger than regular font size;
"&E" denotes a "Math expression" that is like a math symbol on your program (PC version).

Is there a future workaround to this? Thanks.

Thanks a million!!!!!!! I can't believe that I needed something like PreOS or anything like that... crap... oh well. THANKS A MILLION! You've been a great help! Keep up the great work! :D

Features.. hmm.... maybe I'd suggest that one could edit his or her font size or maybe suggest word-wrapping (not talking about the built-in Text Editor by pressing APPS and then 8)... ok, I'd assume you get the idea of what I'm talking about. I'm not too fond of ASM programs since, eventhough it provides "greater" features and all that than BASIC, I'm afraid of calculator crashes, you know? Oh well. Anyway... thanks again!

I tested it with AMS 2.05 and AMS 2.09. I posted a screenshot from Virtual-TI.
Of course you need TxtRider or Hibview for viewing text in calculator.
Both of them require special kernel OS - I use PreOS.

You can download all neccessary here:
PreOS [www.yntoo.com]
TxtRider [www.ticalc.org]
Hibview [nico.hibou.free.fr]

Hope this helps.

I plan to make a short tutorial how to use TxtRider or Hibview next week. You are not the first who is asking for that.

Do you think I should use TxtRider and/or HibView instead of WordRider to view the fonts you posted (picture)? Think that might help me view those 3 different fonts and math expressions, again, as you posted the picture above?

And... what calculator requirements (AMS and HW versions, please) should I use? (not talking about any graphing calculators below 89/Titanium).

I guess I should try downloading (or doing a search on) for TxtRider and Hibview and see if it works. Thanks.

Hmmmm... I do have TiLP, but I don't use it too often. I guess I should use that software and try sending those files to my calculators, huh? Actaully, I don't think it will work because for some reason, I get this error message while trying to send file(s) using TiLP (version 6.75):

Msg: No I/O resource available !
Cause: several ways. Check for:
- PortTalk device driver (parallel/serial cable under Win NT4/2000/XP)
- TiglUsb device driver (SilverLink).

And

Msg: Invalid host ID.
Cause: TiLP received an unexpected Machine ID, probably due to a transmission error.

This is what those 2 message window happens when I try to send files to either my TI-89 or TI-89 Titanium. I guess maybe an update (6.76) could resolve it. Oh well. Thanks for your help though.

I don't know what is going on. I've used TI-Connect using its "Send Device to..." thingy but still doesn't work. Is there a bug to fix or is there a certain AMS and/or HW version that needs to be worked out? Thanks.

Argghh. My mistake. I forgot that TI probably didn't include support for new calculators at Graph link.
OK so try to transfer it via Ti Connect.
I guess it's not a WordRider's or Hibview's problem - the problem is with transfer.

Btw. TI Graph Link works fine with my WinXp Pro.

Well, I'll tell ya what. I'm assuming that most Windows XP Home/Pro versions doesn't run via TI Graph Link, right? Since TI-Connect seems either "popular" or works around new TI graphing calculators, such as the TI-84 Plus Family and the TI-89 Titanium. Well, I'll try to download the file(s) to my original TI-89 and see if that works; and maybe try to transfer that to my TI-89T. If not, maybe a future version of WordRider or TxtRider or HibView should be worked out in a future time. Well, thanks for your reply! :)

Text formats for Ti89 and Ti89Titanium are same - there are no differences. So please try to do this:
Download this file - [wordrider.net]
Move this file into your TI-89Ti via TI-GraphLink(not the TiConnect) and open it with Hibview or TxtRider.
I hope it will work.
I suppose that it only works on the TI-89 (I have AMS 2.09, HW 2), but I also own the TI-89 Titanium (AMS 3.00, HW 3); so I suppose that it's only meant to be compatible with the TI-89 but not the TI-89 Titanium, is that correct? Wished it was compatible for the TI-89T as well. Oh well.

Hello. Thanks for your posting.
Unfortunately I am not sure what your problem is. I guess it works(although i tested it on my older Ti-89 AMS 2.05 only - TxtRider and Hibview)

Here is a test file I used:
[wordrider.net]

Text size 1
Text size 2
Text size 3
d=sqrt((y2-Y1)^2+(x2-x1)^2)

It's almost impossible to see drawn math expression(neither MS Word is able to do this-drawing math equations is really really hard).
