WordRider saves 89t file as an expression (no replies)

Hello.

I have a huge problem with opening text files made with WordRider on my TI-89 (non-Titanium and Titanium). When I copy/paste some text to WordRider, save it as an .89t file and then upload it to my calculator, neither HibView or uView finds it/treats it like supported. In VAR-LINK these files have EXPR assigned to them - where there should be TEXT. The strange thing is, when I write something by typing in WordRider that file is OK (it has TEXT extention). I also opened some random notepad plain text file in WordRider and saved it to my calculator and the same thing happened - EXPR.

Please help!

Hi, I'm a bit lost. First of all it's not at all clear from your description that you need a sperate application installed on your TI calculator to read these files. The default editor reads them, but they are very scrambled. Secondly I have no idea how to run txtrider. I installed it sucessfully I think. But I can't see an icon anywhere on my TI-89 Titanium calculator to run it. The helpfile just says type txtrider, but it gives no hint where to type this and in what application. It would be useful to have an icon for this I guess.

Edit:

OK I found out what I'm supposed to do, but textrider won't run on my TI-89 Calculator with the latest OS version (3.10 I think). I go to the home screen, I hit 2nd, I hit minus, browse until I see txtrider, hit enter, close parenthesis, hit enter again - and all I get is the word "done". The program doesn't run at all. Any hints?

Here are a few icons that I designed for Wordrider. One colored and one dark for dark themed installations.

These icons are based on the spash screen that pops open before the program starts. I'm not sure who to give credit to for the images I've used, but some credit should go to whoever made the graphics inside the programs spashscreen window.

Please feel free to use this icon for your installation of Wordrider (as the icon you click on to start the program, or for whatever else you might want to use it for).

If you have an icon you would like to share with the Wordrider community, please post it here.

It is my hope that this thread can be used to showcase Wordrider icon artwork and to serve as a location to find new icons for Wordrider.

From the documentation of Hibview it is supposed to support hierarchical bookmarks (Hibview hierarchial bookmarks). But from what I can tell Wordrider only supports the top level bookmark marker (upward arrow). How can I get this feature working?

I also tried examining the file to see if I could insert the tag manually but the format was not obvious. Is there some way to insert this tag?

I have a question and maybe you know the answer

When I run WordRider, it uses the Java Virtual Machine. The process javaw.exe takes a lot of my CPU power. Actully its takes so much of it (more than 90%) that everything is becomming slow. Do you know why and is there anyway to avoid that ?

I (my antivirus in fact) found a virus in the in the wordrider executable !??
The file was downloaded directely from your site.

Hello,

I recently got a TI-89 Titanium calculator. I tired to install the hibview on my calculator. When I install a WordRider file in the calculator it transfers over fine, but the problems come up when I try to load the file. I watched the tutorials and also followed them. When I attempt to load the files I get a "Kernalrequired" right under the hibview() on the screen. How can I get this fixed? Please help me out it will be greatly appreciated. I read many post of this, and i will write some kind of ejamples, common errors and some useful expresion.

--- How write and expresion.

Very clear on imagen.....

When its active you can write everything what you want.
Its easier explain it with examples and pictures.

As you can see there is how you write (exact like in the calculator) and how you see when its finish (in my case v200)

Important Thing you have to know.

-----Common Errors
You CANT write things like:

1.- x=y=z.... Only cant use one =, must be logic
2.- y=-x Wrong!!!, its like the calculator, you have one (-) to subtract and another to multipliy.

------Common and Useful expression.

Well this one are general (integrals and deriv) but you never know...

The first one is very usefull >:D<, its read like a list beacuse you cant put subind in a math expression.

But the second i really dont recomend...to ugly but many guys ask How i can....

Well if someone knows more thinks like this we can make a great guide about this for beginers.

Finaly i add one File for V200 (use TiEMu if you dont have) where you can see how i use math expr.
Another useful thing what i add is the size for a picture for V200. I use paint X(

Hello everyone. Hopefully some of you fellow WordRider experts can lend a helping hand.

I'm trying to enter some trigonometric functions into a file using WordRider to be viewed on my 89 using HibView. So far I haven't been able to find a way to write it that it will show up like it does in the picture attached.

Anyone know of a workaround?

Here's an example of what i've tried but didn't work:
sum((((-1)^n)/(2n+1)!)(x^(2n+1)),inf,n=0) where sum is sigma and inf is the infinity symbol
sum((((-1)^n)/(2n+1)!)(x^(2n+1)),inf,n=0) where sum is actually the letters s u & m written out and inf is again the infinity symbol

just another problem: user the math expression, it displays multiplier dots between two variables even though I do not make use of "*" in wordrider. Is there any possibility to use math expression and display the variables like "xyz" instead of "x.y.z"?

just a short question for displaying integrals in my TI Voyage200: how can I enter an integral with limits above/below the integral-symbol? I could use the Eponent/Subscript-Buttons, but it does not look the same as in the dokumentation-screenshot [wordrider.net]. Hope you could help.

I love the software.
I have created rtf files with pretty print (radical notation--chemical formulas, etc). I would like to be able to cut and paste into wordrider and keep pretty print in the resulting txt file to send to my Ti-89t.
OR---is there a way to cut and paste from rtf pretty print to txt file in some other text editor (notefolio, etc), to then send to ti-89t?

Ok so I did everything according to the tutoriols but I can't get this to work. I have a TI-89 Titanium.

After I archive preos and stdlib, I try to run preos but it says error: stdlib not found. I've made sure that I'm transferring the correct files to the calculator.

Then I decided to use txtrider since I couldn't get preos to work for hibview, which I couldn't download because the link isn't working for me. but when I try to run txtrider it just says DONE, nothing happens....

any ideas?? TIA

When i input v200 pictures (.9xi) into a wordrider file, and then if i close and open the file it no longer displays the picture (see attatchment). In the picture place apears a grey icon that says file not found! Am I doing something worng when I input the pictures in the file??

Hello,

I'm having a small problem with WordRider.
Basically, I cannot open or 'save as..' because everytime I try to do so, javaw.exe (version .8) or wordrider.exe (version .8 alpha 3) simply spikes in the Processes list in the Task Manager and freezes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd really love to be able to use this program. Thank you for your time.

Hi,
I am using Wordrider for a while now and I am very happy with it. But I have now a problem. By default, .9xt files are not associated to Wordrider. I built this association, but now, the file type has changed to "File 9xt" instead of TiConnect.text and the file is no more flagged to be sent to the TI Device. Can you help me telling how to be able to sent the file to my TI.

First of all, congrats to everyone involved with wordrider, it's amazing.
Got a TI Voyage 200, I followed and downloaded wordrider as it was instructed on the video, that is already installed on my PC, also I downloaded the PreOS application as well as Hibview, when I got to look for all of them on my calc. Even if I followed the procedures explained on the respective links (demo file) I can't make run none of them, I know they are there on the main menu on my calc, I personally selected and archive the variables, hibview, couldn't be started because is missing a configlib, where should I find that? should I delete hibview and reisntalled?
How to run the file that I already have on wordrider on my calc?
It only runs (partially text, no the graphic attached)

I don't know if I've done this right, but I used the WordRider program to type up some questions/answers and limit problems. I sent it to my calculator by clicking "file" and then "send". I pushed "2nd" and "Var-link" on my Titanium. When I push those, I see the folder and variable I saved (I see my information listed). I couldn't push enter (with it selected) like in the demo and get that result, so I pushed "2nd" and "F1". This is "F6". I saw the information, but it was weird looking, not like what I typed. I've never done this before. What am I doing wrong not to get the demo result and have the stuff on my calculator look like the stuff on the calculator demo? Thanks for any help!!

First of all, I would like to sincerely thank the author(s) of WordRider for offering us a freeware application that can insert "image" files into our TI calculators without having to know BASic programming language~!

That being said, I find myself confused on exactly "how" to create notes and their underlying "images"--and then accessing them properly on my calculator!:-(

Here is the "Newbie" problem with using WordRider:

1. Followed "flash-based" tutorial, loaded WordRider on my PC and "archived" HibView/Lib-PreOS on my TI V200 (each now has the Root of "main\").....
Does this mean that we have to callup a command such as "hibview()" on the Home Screen---every time we need to view our created notes/images on the calc~?!!
(TI apps "notefolio and studycard" each create a file which is easily accessed from their respective programs via a dropdown menu--I see no indication that WordRider offers such a feature)

2. If "each" created note w/image has too have an individual folder (1 for text-1 for the image).....again, how is our created note easily viewed on calc under this method~?!

Forgive this novice inquisition, but all the available tutorials assume that the user is comfortable with the various appys mentioned....and unfortunately I am not!
