No, I have not :-). Why? To suggest them to buy this free software? ;-)
But it would be nice to develope WordRider for the company for some provision, because I have to live from something.

> I'd like very much you could implement the
> capability of insert images with a bigger format
> for a TI-89 calculator?

I think that I tried to use bigger images, but it caused some problems.
Try to open the attached text file. The bigger image is not properly viewed - not even vertically.

> ...can't scroll horizontally for images...Only for
> equations...It's strange, isn`t it?

Unfortunately I don't know intern structure of Hibview - it's a C code (blah ;-)).

> Thank you very much for your excellent program.

You are welcome.

Bye from the Czech republic, near Prague :-).

I have the same problem.

Could you make it captures images with a big size?

I have found that the Beta version of hibview can scroll horizontally but, surprisingly only can be made with equations, not with text neither with images.

What a pity!

Thank you for making WordRider anyway.

Hello dnanar,
there is probably no way how to solve this problem. There is probably a "thread dead lock" in WordRider.
The solution could be to use developing version of WordRider, where I already fixed some problems (but many were also added) and it's unstable to use.
I tested WordRider on Kubuntu and Suse without problems, but there is a chance that your combination of HW + JRE causes the dead lock (it's not your fault of course).

WordRider is not compatible to GCJ and probably never will be. The newest version of WordRider will use Swing AppFramework, which will avoid most of thread issues.

Herm, sorry that's make a while I didn't check this forum 8-)

Yes, I do still have my problem, furthermore, the problem is the same if I try with Java 6 or 5 or with GCJ (note that with GCJ wordrider doesn't even start, i've got a "Exception", but I suppose it's due to GCJ which is very buggy...)

So, with Sun Java, here is the result with the command you said :

dnanar@nicolas:/tmp/wordrider-0.8$ java -jar wordrider.jar -debug
11 juin 2008 16:15:28 net.wordrider.core.AppPrefs getAppPath

Here are the versions I tried with (i got the same startup message each time) :

java version "1.5.0_15"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_15-b04)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_15-b04, mixed mode, sharing)

and

java version "1.6.0_06"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_06-b02)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 10.0-b22, mixed mode, sharing)

Also, with this version of gcj :

java version "1.5.0"
gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.3.1 20080420 (prerelease)

I got this error message (notice that this time, wordrider doesn't start, and it exits automatically, I don't have to stop the thread):

I hope that it will help you (and occasionnaly me who sometimes need of wordrider :-) ). Notice that I don't care that it doesn't work with gcj (and I think that nobody care of it maybe except Richard Stallman...), I just said it to help you ;-)

This time I checked "Send replies to this thread to me via email". I hope this will remind myself to watch out this thread :D

I have a problem with subscipted expressions (no problem with exponential expressions).

I use PreOs, Hibview,

WordRider correctly use and display subscripted expressions. But if you don't send it to the TI right after saving the text file and you reload that file in WordRider, all subscripted expressions are replaced by a Dotted expression.

i do saved in Hibview format and i use hibview viewer but when wordedit reload the file all ubscripted expressions are replaced by a Dotted expression.

Could you help me please ?

I have attach some pictures to help you understand

Hi,
you can try this:
Σ((-1)^n/((2*n+1)!) *x^(2*n+1),n,0,∞)
I recommend you to check it at HOME screen (see image in the attachment). Note that minus (-1) is a special character on TI calculators.

[WordRider General] Typing Summation in pretty print

Hello everyone. Hopefully some of you fellow WordRider experts can lend a helping hand.

I'm trying to enter some trigonometric functions into a file using WordRider to be viewed on my 89 using HibView. So far I haven't been able to find a way to write it that it will show up like it does in the picture attached.

Anyone know of a workaround?

Here's an example of what i've tried but didn't work:
sum((((-1)^n)/(2n+1)!)(x^(2n+1)),inf,n=0) where sum is sigma and inf is the infinity symbol
sum((((-1)^n)/(2n+1)!)(x^(2n+1)),inf,n=0) where sum is actually the letters s u & m written out and inf is again the infinity symbol

Thanks in advance!

Well I am sure there is a possibility somehow. If I write: (1/r)(d/(dr))r(dx/dr)
there will be a dot before and after (d/(dr)), but between r(dx/dr) there is NO dot.
Furthermore, only the last two brakets (dx/dr) are displyed, all the others are converted. Do you know why? If I just could figure out why the "r(dx/dr)" part is displayed different, it surely would be a workaround for me...

Hello,
just another problem: user the math expression, it displays multiplier dots between two variables even though I do not make use of "*" in wordrider. Is there any possibility to use math expression and display the variables like "xyz" instead of "x.y.z"?

Thanks in advance

Hello,
the author of the example file on the screenshot simply used 1 empty line below and 1 empty above and filled it with spaces (like an ASCII art).
You can also use math expression (ctrl+M) to write: Int(x^2,x,1,2) where Int is an Integral sign.

just a short question for displaying integrals in my TI Voyage200: how can I enter an integral with limits above/below the integral-symbol? I could use the Eponent/Subscript-Buttons, but it does not look the same as in the dokumentation-screenshot http://wordrider.net/screenshots/normal/support-for-pics.jpg. Hope you could help.

I love the software.
I have created rtf files with pretty print (radical notation--chemical formulas, etc). I would like to be able to cut and paste into wordrider and keep pretty print in the resulting txt file to send to my Ti-89t.
OR---is there a way to cut and paste from rtf pretty print to txt file in some other text editor (notefolio, etc), to then send to ti-89t?

thanks
