I thought of that too. I tested the plugins this evening in Windows XP (yeah I know, but I don't have Vista, 7 or 8) in virtual machine, I found that it behave differently than in linux (in which I developed and tested). But I never got critical errors, when I tested the dash files successfully multiplexed, but left dash audio and video files undeleted, also the file that being processed in the list is saved twice, because as I said it failed to be deleted. In linux it works perfectly.

So yes, I agree with your suggestion. I'll try to make the internal multiplexer optional, maybe in the weekend, and if possible fix the windows bugs.

I personally prefer ffmpeg (or avconv in my case) to do this kind of job, combine together with script to do batch processing.

Thanks.

That would be great, thanks..

I think you might need to add a help button too, just to
explain the differences between separated a/v download
and normal download.

I'll bet 99% of users don't know what's going on. They would
probably think 720p is the highest if they don't enable
separate downloads..

Oh and FFmpeg usage(parameters) is a must too, I didn't
really figure it out until reading your previous posts..

That's why in the current plugin version we added small note in the plugin option. Isn't the note clear enough? Do you have any suggestions (in wording, etc)?

Ok maybe we'll add a 'How to merge/multiplex DASH files...' link in the plugin option that refers to the post.

The reason why we add internal multiplexer support is to make multiplexing DASH files easier, so that users don't have to deal with the ffmpeg stuff. But in order to make the internal multiplexer works, we need it to be tested and we need feedbacks. But so far we only got few feedbacks. I'm limited in resources (time, system environment to test, etc), so some bugs may not be reproducible in my system.

Okay, option to enable/disable the internal DASH multiplexer has been added in plugin v2.4.1. We also put small note that refers to post on how to multiplex DASH files using ffmpeg.

Tong2shot, could you add an option to download only the audio as m4a, without conversion to mp3?

Thanks in advance!!!

Now I can do internal multiplex without error on my XP system,
but 3 files, (m4v, m4a and m4a.?????.part) won't get deleted..
when i try to delete them, system says they are still in use,
so maybe need some more tweak but it's working, thanks !!

PS: maybe try to close the files before deleting will solve the problem ?

Thanks for the feedback.

I mentioned it in previous post :

I'm afraid that's not the case, it's java problem in windows :

I don't understand anything about the bug (nor java)

But I found that I can delete m4v m4a files (for previous video)
successfully after the next multiplex started (for next video),

So maybe somehow the multiplex process doesn't end gracefully, it
needs to be called again so that previous files are really released.

How about calling multiplex routin again (doing nothing),
after multiplex the current video ? (I am just wild guessing)

That's because the file handlers are released after java doing garbage collecting process, so it doesn't have to be after the next multiplex started.

Now I can reproduce the critical (out of memory) error in my Windows VM. I've modified the mp4parser plugin in my local repository, so that it doesn't use MappedByteBuffer, but using regular ByteBuffer instead. It prevents the out of memory error, also fixes the deletion bug in windows. I'll commit the code and release the plugins, once audio extraction that is requested by @VictorW is implemented in YouTube plugin.

Thanks for the feedback.

Yea, sometimes I encountered out of memory error while
downloading this high rez 4K video (2560x1440)

I tried it several times, even if the "out of memory error" doesn't occur,
I can't no longer download any files after multiplexing that video.
(probably used up all the resource), had to close FRD and restart it.
