FRD starts DLing at good speed and then speed goes to zero

Hope someone can help me figure out what is going on. Been using FRD for years with no probs and then in the last week or two when I go to download files, the downloads start great and about five seconds later the speed goes down to zero. This happens with any sites I download from so I am figuring it is an internal problem on my end. I have removed and reinstalled the program a number of times...deleted all traces in temp files, roaming files, reinstalled java....Any suggestions

Do the downloads work fine when you download with your browser?

yes they download fine from all browsers and also with other downloaders I tried. I've checked firewall settings as well to make sure nothing was being blocked. I just find it strange that all of a sudden it stopped working. I really prefer FRD for downloading...it is straight forward and basic to use.

What antivirus program do you use ? What JRE (Java Runtime Environment) version do you use ?

Thanks for the reply. I am using Windows Vista totally updated, AVG Internet Security 2013 uptodate and Java Version 7 Update 17. I have even disabled antivirus and firewall and tried downloading and still it downloads full tilt for 5 seconds then abruptly goes to zero. Thanks

This topic : [wordrider.net] maybe related to this problem. I'm not recommending to downgrade to java6, as it's near the end of life (EOL).

Could you attach app.log ?

To locate app.log : Help -> Browse to log file.

...thanks so much...had to do the IPv6 issue fix and that got it up and working but will have to start the program from the batch file because if I try and use the frd.exe file it starts doing the same thing....thanks so much. appreciate it...totally prefer FRD to any other program out there.
