I have come across this:

By the looks of it, someone is trying to rip off your code and remove all the authroship and licensing information, violating GPL by doing so. I feel compelled to let you know what is happening so you can take an appropriate action.

GPL allows (and actually endorses) forks and other modifications, but the modified versions MUST be licensed under GPL too.

That link doesn't say anything about licensing. They seem to require an account for reporting violations, hmm.

GPL also forbids removing "Appropriate Legal Notices" from the program "iteractive display". In this case all the help section and notices seem to be getting removed.

I have come across many simlar postings on that website, people taking free projects and asking to replace the authorship information (often more blatanly than in this case) to pass a project as their own.

Also many requests are in a "gray areay" such as: cracking captchas, bypassing spam filters, duping diablo2 items, creating automated voting bots, etc.

Hmm, that's kind of bad.

Well anyway, good that we can at least protect our project. We sent an email to the company telling about GPL and that we will take appropriate legal actions if they violate it.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
