We've been reuploading the file all week yet it always just gets deleted. Does somebody know a nice host which allows hundreds of thousands of downloads of one file?

The link was updated to another hoster.

the hosting sites do not like this application. so that they delete the files. Also, some users may be reporting the url to hosting sites. If possible try to hide the hosting site.

you can try fileden.com. it allows hotlinking. so, you can hide the file hosting site completely. the free account allows 5 gb of transfer. may be you can create multiple accounts and use it once the limit is reached.

Unfortunately automatic updates cannot be implemented. FRD needs to be redownloaded into a separate folder because sometimes files need to be added or deleted. Also, we still haven't found a server that handles 2.3 million users downloading a file. We really don't have an access to AKAMAI network like Microsoft or Google has.

Yeah, a CDN like Akamai would we the ultimate solution, but not with these kinds of donations. That would cost hundreds of dollars per month.

Hiding the link, well, it just does not work. We really know it doesn't because this program decrypts such links.

What i meant was, on download page (http://wordrider.net/freerapid/download.html), when we click the download link, it shows the file host site then we need to download from that site. so, some users might report to the file host and they remove our link. if the link is direct link to the zip file, the user will not know which file host we use. But not sure which file hosting allows hotlinking with very high usage.

I also feel that, as there are huge downloads, the filehost might be monitoring huge usage files and may delete. I feel you can use as many file hosts as you can and redirect each download to different filehost. like one user to rapidshare and another user to hotfile, etc.

It is open source right? may be you can try sourceforge.net, google code, etc.
