I committed clumsy code yesterday :-D Fixed in plugin v1.14.1. The new code is friendlier to test. Nothing change in users' POV.

Nice work! I was going to try guessing between clone and swap by the fact that the constant pool entry for clone always seems to be numerically less than that for swap, but your approach is definitely more sustainable.

I tested the plugin with the current and 4 previous youtube's SWFs, and they gave the correct methods and parameters sequence. It didn't say about whether the signatures is correct or incorrect, though, because we didn't document the correct signatures. So unless they modify the methods definition or introduce new one(s), I'd say yes it'll last longer, well.. let's hope so :-P

This is again a new record :X:X:X
Plugin v1.13.0 made it only for less than a day:-(
It is now a declared and on-going war from YT/VEVO.

While I have to thank you again for your continuous efforts,
it is now Thu 18 July 2013 02:00 in my timezone and the
YouTube/VEVO code has once again been changed, breaking
your latest update youtube.frp v1.12.4 :X:X:X

I am tired of this, maybe I should give up :S
As ntoskrnl has said, a more permanent solution must be found;
it is not practical or fair for you to be releasing updated plugins
every 2-3 days...:?
The same fate has struck many other "YouTube downloader"
developers; the guys over at [rg3.github.io]
release builds almost daily, even twice a day.
Besides "youtube-dl", at the time of writing 2 firefox extensions
seem to work for VEVO:
1. mig's Downloadhelper 4.9.17 &
2. InBasic's Youtube Video and Audio Downloader v0.2.3

Of course, no-one knows for how long!

Where is the JavaScript code that does this on YouTube? Maybe we can modify the plugin so that it executes that. Or is the relevant code in the SWF?

Yeah, they change it quite often. Actually I updated the plugin on July 11th to reflect the change, but apparently broken in the same day (as you mentioned).

I am very sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the people at YouTube have gone manic :-(
They changed the signature encryption on July 8th/9th, and a second time in a row sometime on
July 11th !

My Setup:

OS: WinVista SP2 x86 (en-US)
Installed Java: JRE SE 6u45 (x86)
FRD version: 0.9u2 (current)
youtube.frp version: 1.12.3 (most up-to-date)
youtube.frp settings: Preferred quality level: 720p (HD), Preferred container: MP4, Download subtitles whenever available.

Youtube/VEVO videos won't download, example link:

Tom Odell - Another Love

The GUI shows a generic error:

ERROR starting download

and the log file is not of great help either (that's why I have not attached), all it contains is:

Fri Jul 12 09:13:25 EEST 2013 SEVERE: Status code je 500

It now seems that this has turned into an endless cat and mouse chase - I have no doubt you'll be able to fix it,
but how long will the fix last?
