I just felt I could share my own experience with iPrima over RTMP;
aren't I entitled to?
You have to acknowledge that various users depending
on their setups (OS, Java version, physical location, ISP
and Internet connection configuration) may have quite
different downloading experiences from the same provider/protocol...

And I don't quite get the underlying reasons
you have such a gripe with the RTMP protocol
and the FLV container it produces, however you
are of course entitled to your own opinion; still:

1) RTMP is a proprietary protocol developed by Adobe,
that is being used successfully for many years
(for both "Live" streams and "on demand" content -
just because "Real Time" is in its name, this does not
mean that it's only suitable for live streams, as you seem to imply:

2) HLS is yet another proprietary streaming method, developed
by Apple - it is only after the proliferation of mobile devices
over the past years (netbooks, tablets, smartphones) that it grew
significantly in popularity between media providers... In their effort to
accommodate a wider range of client devices and keep costs
low, the providers are steadily shifting from RTMP

One unwanted (for us, downloaders B)) effect from this shift
is geo-blocking circumvention.
Quite often in the RTMP era, one would use a simple free HTTP proxy

gain access to the geo-filtered stream data, when the streams themselves
were hosted on non geo-blocked RTMP CDN servers,
so were streamed/downloaded with a DIRECT connection to your ISP.
With the implementation of AdobeHDS/AppleHLS (and imminently
MPEG-DASH) which are served exclusively over HTTP, the streaming
provider has to diligently apply geo-filtering on all stages, including
the CDN servers :-( ; fetching a, for instance, 1 GiB HD video file over
HTTP via a free (open) proxy, or Tor, is simply infeasible...

3) .ts files have a slightly larger file size compared to .flv files
with the exact video/audio elementary streams - this is due to
increased file overhead.
FWIW, I tend to losslessly remux either type to the MP4 container,
using either MP4Box or FFmpeg...

Hi ;-)
Unless there's been a drastic change internally,
I feel it's not necessary to downgrade to iprima.frp v1.4.2;
with v1.4.3 installed,
Options->Preferences->Plugins->Settings->iprima.cz->
Options->Preferred Protocol

and change "HLS" back to "RTMP"
(which was the default setting in v1.4.2).

While you are there, make sure
"Preferred quality level" is set to HD !

If this still fails for you, I do keep a backup copy
of iprima.frp v1.4.2 that I can attach here, but
you'll have to downgrade manually (more instructions
if we come to that...) - however, this is not a long term
solution, since future updates to the plugin will be
applied to the v1.4.3 code, so if/when iprima.cz
change something on their site (as is often the case...),
your iprima.frp v1.4.2 will cease to fetch anything!

@ all others:
I personally had never had any problems with iPrima filles
over RTMP (at least with those that are available worldwide,
since I'm not within the Czech Republic); my internet connection
is very robust, all 3 RTMP ports (1935, 443, 80) work without a flaw,
as said never had FRD fetch a corrupt/truncated FLV file;
and as jimmy1222 already pointed out, 720p is not available over HLS...

Please, today was my plugin upgrade to v1.4.3 (video in TS 854x480).
Where can I find previous version of iprima.frp (there was settings - a I can download FLV in 1280x720)
Probably I find version v1.4.2... Thank you.

Okay as multiple users are affected, I think it's safer to set HLS as default.

I have downloaded some video files from iprima.cz via RTMP, and yes, they were often broken.
After I started using HLS, everytning is fine. Don't know if it is caused by a "better" protocol, or better connectivity...:o

IPrima HLS doesn't provide HD videos, but its HQ video (file) size is comparable to RTMP's HD.

I looking on Prima,and there is default.
I think HLS is better.
Also,RTMP protocol (that was on ceskatelevize) was saving uncomplete files,which were "horribly" broken.
