Direct download resuming from existing file

Could it be possible that Direct HTTP download plugin (direct.frd) can support resuming from previously (partially) downloaded file?

I mean:
-You have partially downloaded a file with any other application/browser/downloader.
-You enter the download URL in FRD.
-Then FRD should ask you if you want to Overwrite or Resume that download. Currently it just proposes Rename / Overwrite / Skip.

Actually, this could be extended to any plugin that supports resuming.

Even more: could it be possible to download HTTP/htaccess password protected files? For instance, allowing standard URL syntax "http://user:pass@domain/path", or asking user / pass when starting the download.

Thanks.
