Regarding Youtube's different Bitrate

==================================
[www.youtube.com]

This is a 720p video,

When using firefox's plugin to download the video
the file size is 22 M

When using freerapid to download,
the file size is 13 M ,
(but the 2nd-try it's 22M, I have no idea why, I kept the files if you want to look at them)

I have examed the bitrates of the two videos, they are not
the same, so I supposed youtube provide two version of 720p stream.

I'd like to see freerapid get the higher one :)

==================================
PS:

It seems to me that seperated a/v (m4v + m4a) has a
much lower bitrate then a mp4 version..

not to mention that youtube lower all streaming bitrates
the last few months.. so sad..

I can't reproduce the case. Tested four times, I got straight mp4 (22 M) for all tests.

Straight mp4 has higher priority than DASH in FRD. So I'm not sure what's wrong your case. Yes, please upload the 13 M video, so we can analyze it further.

It would be helpful for us, if in the future you enable debug mode, and attach the log.

Thanks.

Yeah, that's 720p from DASH, which is weird. I'm still not sure what's wrong here.

maybe youtube sents out lower bitrate videos when the server is under heavy use ?

but I also downloaded the 22m file using firefox plugin at the same time, so i have no idea...

Probably they were served by different servers, and one of the server acted funny, it happened before. Or perhaps just incorrect parsing on youtube plugin, but I haven't seen evidence in this particular case, I still can't reproduce it.
