Unfortunately Hulu cannot be supported anymore, because they protect their videos with a scheme that hasn't been cracked yet.

@barryz

For further info, I'll refer you to one of my previous posts (June 3rd 2014):

hulu plugin broken...

If in the US and you can access hulu, a powerful CPU
and GPU are required to screen record it... sad smiley
Haven't checked whether GetFLV still works for hulu... confused smiley
Popular hulu stuff can be found on torrent sites...

Just an update, regarding the current status with hulu:

I have successfully circumvented their geo-location API
by using one of the so called "Smart DNS" services, as
hulu seem to block most HTTP proxies, Tor Network &
commercial US VPN solutions angry smiley

They have moved away from the RTMPE protocol, where
they used to provide unencrypted streams made non-downloadable
via implementing "SWF verification type2".

I checked on Fx ESR 38.4.0 on Windows (x86), and they
have now switched to HTTP protocol; the streaming
technique currently employed is MPEG-DASH in
adobe flash player plugin.
I loaded the following Family Guy episode:
http://www.hulu.com/watch/848429
and with the aid of Fx's Web Console I sniffed the
URL of the "Media Presentation Description" (.mpd) file:
Language: SQL
https://play.hulu.com/dash_manifest/12995998/sd/1449630121_d7aa2e03e1bbb0d2b480e5ce7905f4c6/12995998.mpd?user_id=0&language=en&cdn=dv&version=1&device=122&region=US

The above URL is not geo-filtered, so you can
download to disk a copy for yourself...
If you open the downloaded file in a proper text editor,
you'll notice the following line no.5:
Language: XML
<ContentProtection schemeIdUri="urn:mpeg:dash:mp4protection:2011" value="cenc"/>
THIS MEANS THAT THE STREAMS ARE ENCRYPTED

Further URL sniffing reveals that URLs of
the following template are being accessed:
http://fa.hulu.com/flashaccess/license/v*
so they are using FlashAccessDRM

Very few MPEG-DASH downloaders exist currently,
but the encryption is a non-starter...

I was not able to check whether unencrypted HLS
streams do exist, because on mobile browsers
(via Fx addon: [addons.mozilla.org])
you first need a subscription to watch... confused smiley

It is unclear whether GetFLV Pro (recently updated to
v9.8.876.88) can still (as advertised) fetch hulu streams
and how it does it (if indeed it does...???)

So, screen recording remains your (only?) viable option...sad smiley

Thanks for the info.

Last time I checked (over a year ago?), they banned my private proxy (SSH tunnel to my US VPS). News circulated at that time that they banned non-residential US ip address (proxies, tor, vpn). I have no interest in watching Hulu, but it's good to know that "Smart DNS" works, interesting..

I was misled by the fact the quoted URL remained alive
(from my non-US IP) for more than 1 hour after generation,
but today, sadly, returns a:
403 Forbidden
Request forbidden -- authorization will not help
error yawning smiley

For posterity (and just for the curious ones...),
I have attached the obtained ".mpd" file...

This is not true for all of them, but they are quick
to change their DNS servers once hulu blocks them;
it's much easier to change those servers than setup
a new VPN server with an unblocked IP address
(through which a lot of traffic appears to be generated by
subscribed users, a tell-tale sign this is a VPN's IP...).

With smartDNS, only specific hulu URLs are rerouted
to the DNS server to bypass the initial geo-location check,
the rest of the traffic and the encrypted stream itself is
shifted via a DIRECT connection.
This is because the CDN's hostname (see .mpd file)
"ss-v-darwin.hulu.com" as well as the hostname for
the DRM lic issuer ("fa.hulu.com") are both not geo-blocked.
Subject to change, of course, at any time,
should they in future implement server-level blockage...
