...So many recent posts about DepositFiles:

... From 3rd link:
Make sure you're on the latest version of depositfiles.com plugin,
which is 1.4.15 (Options -> Preferences -> Plugins).
If not, update (Help -> Check for new plugins)

...From 4th link:
Upgrade your Java RE (latest is 8u121).

Sample link posted in the 3rd forum link works fine here,
see attachment...

I've had no luck with DepositFiles at all for the past two weeks.

I'm on the latest version of FreeRapid Downloader.
I've updated all the plugins (including DepositFiles).
I've also made certain I'm the latest Java platform.

Yet, I get the same error every time: "ERROR - Remote host closed connection during handshake"

It doesn't seem to matter if it's [dfiles.eu], [dfiles.ru], [depositfiles.com], etc. I still get the same error.

The only exception is for DepositFiles links with the "https://", which have never worked for me without first changing their format to "http://".

Hello smiling smiley

... Yet you have not followed
How to report problems with a plugin

A sample link and app.log would have been useful for a dev to look into
and possibly establish the cause of your failures...

... which is? ... and on what OS?

It appears you can't connect securely (over HTTPS, i.e. SSL) to depositfiles servers.
If on Windows and JRE 8u121 (latest), try installing
Unlimited Strength Java(TM) Cryptography Extension Policy Files
for the Java(TM) Platform, Standard Edition Runtime Environment 8
link here ; just a long shot, may or may not work, but certainly won't harm things either...

Cheers

Apologies, Macs are truly alien territory for me sad smiley
But since I've frequented this forum for at least 3 years,
I do recollect Macs having problems utilising the latest
Oracle installed Java instead of the default version supplied
by Apple; read this post and the ones after it.
Are you using the .dmg or the .jar flavour of FRD 0.9u4?

More help will be offered by one of the project's main devs
(birchie, tong2shot), when they have the time doing so...
