cannot download from CBS
October 19, 2010 07:22PM
I was asked by ntoskrnl to post my app.log so here it is attached. I believe the issue is that I'm outside the U.S. and I use a proxy (Ultrasurf) yet I'm unable to download. I receive an error saying "cannot be streamed in your geographical area." I should note that I am able to watch CBS using Ultrasurf in IE/FF.

Thanks for your help.

If you have the proxy set up correctly, I can't see how it could fail.

Vity, do you have any idea? It's failing at the HTTP stage so even though proxies are not supported for RTMP in alpha3, it should work. In fact, I tested the plugin using a proxy when I made it.

I don't see an exception in that log file.

It fails with a NotRecoverableDownloadException on line 78.

What does that mean exactly?

There's some problem with proxy configuration.

Could you please post how you set up UltraSurf and FRD?

I'm using Ultrasurf (u997.exe) and I change my proxy settings in Firefox. I know there's an addon but I don't use it, I go to Tools > Options > Manual proxy Configuration:

HTTP Proxy: 127.0.0.1 Port: 9666

I should mention that since a few days UltraSurf hasn't been working well. I tried previous versions and they crash.

I double click on FRD 0.85 (the latest). Then I go to CBS.com, I've tried several videos. I see something appear in the FRD window but its blocks me due to my location.

But, I've just tried Tor and then a 60 Minutes full-length episode and the download began successfully. I tried "The Good Wife" but got the same message as before.

Do this in FRD:
Options > Preferences > Connections > Configure proxy > Input details
