Two Requests - File Naming and Default Download Location

There are two requests that I have for this great product:

1. File Renaming (this may be a bug?)
If I rename a file while it is downloading and the download finishes without any interruption, all is good and the name of the file is as I renamed it. However, if there is an interruption of any kind (including clicking pause and then start), then the file is renamed back to the original file name that is on the server. Can be frustrating.

2. Default Download Location
I'd like to be able to change the location the files are downloaded to instead of my normal chrome downloads folder. The reason for this is that I have SickBeard setup to automatically process a certain folder but don't have all my normal downloads going to this same folder.

1. The reason for this is that the name detected by the plugin and the name set by the user are stored in the same property. When the plugin runs a name check, it replaces the name you've set. I agree, this is a bit confusing and should probably be fixed.

2. You can set the download location in the Add Links dialog. The default location is whatever you used last time. The dropdown also stores a few recent locations.

File renaming will be fixed in the next release.

Even I wanted to see that fixed.

The other day I spoke to tong about pinning few fav' locations.
Like ~

1. Desktop
2. Temp Download Folder

Rest can be the regular ones like ntos mentioned

By "the other day", I think you mean the other year

lol.. and I have 2 more requests myself


1. One is a Restart option in File Menu.
Sometimes a plugin gets stuck.. and file download wont start even after so many tries.
Host issues maybe..after restart it works fine.

2. A button in * Insert new URLs * box
that says, Add Paused and Validate instantly.


Can manage via keyboard shortcuts.
Others might find it handy.
