Creating a Quick Launch Bar in Windows 7
Right-Click on the Taskbar
Select 'Toolbars' > New Toolbar
Type into the text bar (or copy and paste):
%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
Left-Click 'Select Folder'
Right-Click on the Taskbar
Uncheck 'Lock Taskbar'
Right-Click on 'Quick Launch' (this will be written on the Task Bar for now)
Uncheck:
'Show Text'
'Show Title'
Right-Click an empty place in the Quick Launch Bar
Select 'View'
Select 'Small Icons'
Put all the icons you want in the Quick Launch Bar
If you keep your Task Bar on the right side of the screen, drag the separator for the Quick Launch bar to the top of the Taskbar, then drag it to the right, and all the icons in the Quick Launch bar will line up vertically along the right edge of the Taskbar. To change it back, drag the separator, which is now a very narrow (3 rows of 4 dots) thing above the top Quick Launch icon, down and to the left.
If you keep the Taskbar at the bottom of the screen, dragging the top edge of the Taskbar up a little will make it wider, and all the Quick Launch icons will be listed across the bottom of the Taskbar. You may have to drag the separator down to the empty space.
