Visual C++ 2005 vs Java/Netbeans
January 11, 2007 01:28PM
Hi Vity,

I downloaded Visual C++ 2005 from the MS site, since now it's free.

The user interface looks very similar to Netbeans.

Do you have an idea of the advantages/drawbacks of Visual C++ compared to Java/Netbeans (besides it's limited to the MS platforms) ?

Do the visual C++ programs using a GUI need the .net framework to run on the computer ?

Thank.

C++ programs don't need .framework, because they use integrated Windows API, but C# programs do.

Although you can use C++, use C# because C# language is more modern (it's a "copy" of Java - it's very similar).Windows Vista will have .net framework integrated.
