FRD fails to fire up after java update
September 11, 2012 06:02PM
Hello folks,

I updated Java 2 days ago and since then I am unable to fire up FRD. It pops up saying that I need Java Runtime Environment 1.6.0 and directs me to the same site and file that I installed 2 days ago.

I can not really provide any big report or something as I don't know where to find. Pls let me know and I will be glad to provide on.

Many thanks in advance.

As I wrote before, the JRE installer/updater is simply broken. Use following steps to fix it.
1. Close FRD and your web browser(s)
2. Uninstall all JRE or JDK installed on your systems. Make sure that Java directory in Program files directory is empty.
You can also uninstall any crappy antivirus like ESET S**T Security.
3. Restart your computer.
4. Download full offline installation of JRE (the latest version, 7 if you like) from Oracle pages (http://java.com/download)
5. Make sure you can download your files in the browser. Use stable file fast servers, not the overloaded ones.
6. Run FRD. Make sure you are using the latest plugin versions.
7. Don't use unreliable proxies.
8. Happy downloading.
