ATI Tray Tools vs. FRD conflict
May 28, 2009 10:33AM
Hello there, I have a little problem with running ATI Tray Tools 1.6.9 and FRD together. When ATT is running, FRD simply won't run, only splash screen appears and that's all, no process running or anything. After closing ATT, FRD runs with no problems. It is interesting that I was using these two applications before, but after OS reinstall this problem occured :( I have Win XP SP3.
Any idea what can be a cause of this problem or some way how to find it? I'm using ATT as a background application to set GPU 2D/3D frequency, so it's uncomfortable to close it every time I need FRD.

Hi Aries,
try to run frd with this option:
--debug

eg:
frd.exe --debug

and upload here app.log generated when FRD does not start.
Thanks.

I've tried debug as first, result is the same, FRD won't run.
Here is the log after crash: www.mk.extel.sk/app.log

Thanks for your time :)

Connection timed out: connect means a problem with a firewall or something like that.

Firewall? Interesting, it's only ATI Tray Tools which make a difference. AFAIK it does nothing with a network, only communicates with a graphic card (sets clocks etc.).

Problem solved...
I've installed JDK (Java Development Kit) to run Netbeans IDE for Java language and after that, FRD rund without any problem. No idea how it helped, but it works, that's important :)

I don't think it was caused by NetBeans... but....

Of course it wasn't, I installed it yesterday, with JDK... :)
