ATI Radeon throttle up when FreeRapid window is visible

Hi,
First of all, I want to thank you for making such a useful software for free :).

I'd like to report something that's rather strange. I'm using Windows 7 and ATI Radeon 4850. As you may know, this chip can throttle down its GPU and memory speed when in 2D mode to conserve power. However, when FreeRapid's window is visible, the Radeon will kick to high gear thus wasting power and generating unnecessary heat. I don't know if this related to the Java windowing API but FreeRapid is the only application I have which is showing this behavior. This does not occur if FreeRapid is minimized to the system tray, only when its main window is visible and active. Maybe this does not mean much, but I do hope you can at least take a look into it. Thanks :)

Java Swing uses DirectX internally -that's the reason.

Oh OK then, that explains it. Well, I guess there's nothing one can do now? Can I turn off DirectX use in Swing or something? It's just such a waste of processing power, only to draw such a simple GUI element :sigh:
