FRD 0.83 does not install

Hi,

I am new in the installation and use of FRD.

I have read highly recommended articles about FRD by current users, and I want to try it to save time in downloading. I downloaded the FRD 0.83 on my pc running on Win XP with SP3, unpacked it in a folder, and clicked FRD.exe, then it seemed a home page of FRD flew by very quickly and nothing else happened.

The folder path does not contain any special characters (+, |) except spaces, and there is no FRD program anywhere in the pc (I searched the C drive without finding it).

There is also no app.log anywhere.

I also tried: frd.exe --degug, the same thing happened, no debug messages.

Are you using FRD v0.83u1 or v0.83?

Did you see the splash screen?

Are you using ESET NOD32 anti-virus?

2. Yes, I see a flash screen. Too fast to see what it is.
3. I am not using ESET NOD32 anti-virus. I am using Webroot Internet Security Essentials for anti-virus and firewall.

Try to run FRD with parameter:

frd.exe -Doneinstance=false

Yes I did run: frd.exe -doneinstance=false. I saw a flash of a screen just like running frd.exe without the parameter.

I think the program is that frd has failed to be installed when I run frd.exe after unpacking the downloaded file, since there is no trace of it in the directory.

Can you make a screenshot of folder structure - how you installed FRD?

1. I downloaded FreeRapid-0.83U1 into folder My Documents\My Download\pc\Free Rapid Download\FRD
2. Unpacked it in Free Rapid Download
3. Click frd.exe to install frd, but frd is not installed.

Seems like the extraction program you used did not keep the folder structure intact (which is necessary).

What did you extract the ZIP file with? Maybe we could give instructions.

I used 7-Zip V5.32 Pro Sp1 to unpack.
Should I use another one?
