FRD shut down by other application

I love FRD!
but... I just started playing "command and conquer Red Alert" again, and it seems like whenever I start RA95.EXE, freerapid gets shuts down. This is on Windows XP.
Has anyone noticed this with other applications too? Any advice on how to avoid this?

Probably not enough of ram or something like that
