Problems with downloading Rar files

i just got a new computer i am setting up over past few days.. Downloaded Java 1.6.0_21 . Running version .83u1 build 522 of FreeRapid. on top of Windows x63 version 2003 service pack 2. Hardware is AMD Athlon X64 X2 Dual 4200+

The Problem is the majority of rar files I download are corrupted. If i don't use Free Rapid and use the lates version of FIrefox the downloads are fine. Is there a configuration issue i have or something else I need to do? I have used FreeRapid previously and it was flawless so i am thinking it is something with this new configuration.

what i should elaborate on is the rar files appear intact but fail for checksum in random places. Msg says fail CRC and then stops in Winrar. So on same platorm i can download same file twice , first with FreeRapd then with Firefox and only the FreeRapid download has problems.

The problem is not inside FRD. Check your connection or the service you are downloading from.

Vity I am not sure what you mean. I have a small home network (cable modem) with a number of computers and i have tried Free Rapid on a number of these other computers without problem. These are all older Windows XP boxes. This is my first Windows XP 64 box that I am having problems with Free Rapid.

I am having this problem with a whole bunch of Download services, rapidshare, hotfile, file serve, filefactory and probably a few others. My problem is random CRC errors while when i directly download the very same file just using Firefox I don't see any problems.

I was thinking it was an incompatibility between FRD and my Windows XP 64 because I can't think of any other explanation. I really like FRD, but it just seems like it is having a problem here.

...otherwise it's a HW problem (eg. a memory chip)
