[Solved] FreeRapid and COMODO Firewall
January 05, 2011 09:32AM
When using COMODO Firewall with "Clean PC" mode, FRD hang for 30+ second before startup. After that, FRD can't connect to any server, neither download task nor plugin update server.

But it's all ok while in "Safe Mode". But I hate "Safe Mode" for too many annoyance prompt.

Anyone know what is the reason?

Browse your security firewall rules and allow to connect frd.exe (java.exe) to the internet when asked...
I am using FRD with COMODO without any problems.

I have already added frd.exe to trusted file list. STILL CAN'T WORK

I use COMODO ver. 5.3, D+ in "Clean PC" mode

Thanks for your quick reply

Put COMODO into Learn mode first.
Frd.exe is sometimes dynamically loaded from windows folder.

Learn mode is OK.

After that, can I return to Clean PC mode again?

I fount a "jnaxxxxxxxxxxx.dll" be generated in %temp% folder, but the number was different in each run.

You can try it... Browse your settings in Defense etc.

It's a common using of temporary files being extracted from the jar file.

I switch to Training mode and run FRD for 10 min, including do some download jobs, check new plugin and check for new version.

Then I quit FRD, and switch D+ to Safe mode again, it stop working again!

It works now.

It's the fault of the .cfgx of the previous verison. I import the new .cfgx and run, It's all OK.

Thanks for Vity!
