New build for Java update 25
May 16, 2011 08:38PM
I was just looking over the changelog for Java update 25 and it appears to be using some new improved engines or something (brief skimming hardly makes for technical conversation) and I was just wondering if building using the new update would somehow enhance FRD and if the main dev branch would recompile the current release using the new engine.

No, there is no reason to do it.

If you mean the new HotSpot 20 (mentioned here: [www.oracle.com]), then that is a JIT compiler, i.e. it will compile things at runtime each time you run a program. Also make sure you're using the server VM if you're looking for the best performance.
