FreeRapid CPU Usage
July 01, 2011 04:20PM
Hello all,
I've been using FreeRapid for quite some time, and the last few days I noticed that the CPU usage is pretty high (~50% in a very consistent way, see screenshot).
The download list have 450+ links, about 4 of them active at a time (different host services).
I'm using latest version, 0.85u1 plugins fully updated.
Java version is JRE7, build b147 (latest).
Anything special I should check or is it common for Java applications under such circumstances?

Thanks, Adam.

It's normal. Your huge download list is periodically updated and stored. Use less links (max 100).

I thought there were some backwards compatibility issues with XMLEncoder in Java 7. Does everything work fine?

It's not the problem.

Well, after following Vity's advice, I trimmed my list and indeed CPU usage is much better.
Still seeing the spikes pattern with CPU usage, but the highs are at ~10-15%, which is fine, although not ideal.
