Infinite loop bug ?
March 11, 2012 08:43AM
I think there's a infinite loop bug either in whole FRD or in some plugin. The symptom is that FRD begins to react slowly or not at all. When I look into task manager I see 25% usage of CPU which means 100% usage of one core of CPU. The only way out is to kill the whole FRD.
I suspect one plugin - Letitbit, but I cannot prove it - no exception is raised. I simultaneously use 4 plugins - Crocko, Letitbit, Depositfiles and premium Oron. The slow reaction always starts after captcha entering, which was preceded by long waiting - I cannot sit by computer all day, so I enter desired captcha when I come by'.

One small step forward in detection - would it be possible to have in captcha dialog the info which plugin asks it?

My environment Windows 7 64bit, FRD 086u1.

There is a theoretically possible infinite loop in the LetitBit plugin, but it involves asking the user for captcha, so it can never use up all CPU time.

Oron premium obviously doesn't have any captcha. LetitBit uses a custom captcha that looks like this:

Crocko and DepositFiles use ReCaptcha that looks like this:

Maybe this will help. Yesterday, before I went to sleep , I entered captcha for Deposifiles and a Letitbit. Today morning a Letitbit captcha waited for me. It was probably unsuccessful (expired?) because another one followed right away. And already this entering of second one was very slowed down (25% cpu). I slowly managed to enter it and the then whole app frozed completely. There are some exceptions in log.

Sorry, there isn't anything relevant in the log. sad smiley

The LetitBit plugin was updated to use LetitBit's internal API yesterday. You don't have to enter captcha anymore. If you can still reproduce the issue, we can rule out LetitBit.
