FRD Program Crash - 13 years ago
I am running the latest version of FRD 0.85 Update 1, I was trying to do a sorting of the filenames in the list by alpha order, when I got a fatal error message. Running Java - v1.6.0.25 I could not find a specific thread where we can report program crashes, so I made a new thread for it. I have attached the generated crash log file. FRD is for downloading files, not for file management on your system hard drives. Download the file and then move it yourself later on, I can't understand what exactly your problem is supposed to be? Or point your FRD download directory to be on your external drive initially. I run XPSP3 and I have no problem with either internal or external hard drives being slow, it must be your system haby Maxx - FreeRapid Downloader - General

Since I moderate several forums at another website, it comes naturally to me to see people's behaviour here and I have noticed that people are way too damn lazy to do a proper forum search first before just posting a comment. A perfect example is under the 'Plugins Request', we have the exact same plugins requested over and over and over. I am fairly sure ONE request is sufficient. Clear History Search - 14 years ago
This is just a small request. When you open up View History and do a search in the History Search Box; once History is closed it remembers the last search term. Could this be changed so that the last History Search is cleared once History is closed down? Or add an option to either clear or retain it? Thanks.by Maxx - FreeRapid Downloader - Features

I would like to request that an option be added to the Options Setup Menu, where you could specify if you want the new links added at the top or the bottom of the download list. Currently you can only specify that the link downloads start from the top or the bottom. I know the links can be moved around with the arrows, but having the option of where to add the new ones would be much better.by Maxx - FreeRapid Downloader - Features

I didn't find this topic anywhere when I did a forum search. Implement a Search Box on the main interface window, similar to the Search Box in the History Window. It would obviously not require as many options as the History Search. All it would require is just a Name Search so you can find a filename if you have a longer list and/or several files which are similar in name. This would aby Maxx - FreeRapid Downloader - Features

Column Sorting Options - 14 years ago
I did see that this was briefly mentioned in the 'features you don't have to ask for'. My suggestion however is slightly different from what the people in general have been asking for under this option. I would like to be able to sort the columns alphabetically or greatest to least and so on. So for example, I could sort the column by the Filenames, Service Provider, etc. This would forby Maxx - FreeRapid Downloader - Features

It doesn't make any sense that Win7 would erase any of the database files which were in the FRD directory? It would not be installing into that directory nor would it require access to it.by Maxx - FreeRapid Downloader - General

Vity, I just wanted to mention that I was getting this error and then the new Plugin Update for MF came in and now it seems that the problem has been resolved, at least for the links I tried which were giving me the error earlier. BTW, nice to see that some people have no concept of the word 'patient'. What is so all-fired important to leech that you can't wait 2 or 3 days for a fix? I can't believe that Win7 erased your files list. It probably has been moved due to the User files location. Do a search for: VitySoft and filesList.xml and links.txt That will at least see if your data is still on the hard drive. You should be able to move those files into your current directory in order to have them be used again by the program, however check with Vity firstby Maxx - FreeRapid Downloader - General

Honestly, I would not change it. Reasons why: 1/ this was the project's initial name and is now well known as this. 2/ the 'rapid' portion of the name does not imo refer at all to the RS sites but to the fact that it is able to rapidly download from several different websites at a time. Alright, I will give it a fair trial and see how I end up liking it compared to any others. Once you get used to something, it is a bit difficult to change sometimes. But I won't let that cloud my decision. You do have some VERY nice features on here and it is a nice small install file.by Maxx - FreeRapid Downloader - Features

1/ Fantastic! Thanks, I completely overlooked that small icon, I was looking in the Options/Preferences area. 2/ Really? That's unfortunate that it can't be easily implemented. I know several of the other file downloaders allow auto-insertion and auto-start. I believe you can see how it would be faster and easier?
