Hey tong2shot, the picasa plugin is now perfect. Lots of people know that the https is better for safer browsing.
However, the facebook plugin doesn't seem to work very well. I was able to download one video (but another video didn't download at all) and I can't download the photo albums at all. All that FRD does is recognize the link (link with https isn't supported like the previous version of the picasa plugin) but then it gives me errors, such as No picture/video links found). When I try to download a single photo (or the other video that didn't work) it says ERROR - Tag containing 'Download' was not found Do you think you can fix it? Downloading whole photo albums would be perfect cause then you can browse the pictures whenever you're offline.

@major : could you post/PM me sample of the problematic video,photo,album links ?

1) Please fix the https issue, like you did with the picasa plugin (see this setting page to improve your own security on facebook - every fb user shoud have this checked, otherwise your activity on fb can be monitored by third parties,especially when you are connected to the internet via Wi-Fi)

2) Photo album links that don't work (FRD says: No picture/video links found)

Please try facebook plugin v1.1.2.

@Vity, ntoskrnl, devs who have knowledge on FRD https issue, please comment on this https issue. Does FRD use secure socket (SSL/TLS) in https protocol ? So we don't give users a false sense of security. I haven't look FRD+libs source thoroughly.

@tong2shot : he meant to enable https in plugin.xml regexp. It's always secure when you use https.

FRD does use SSL/TLS, but it accepts all certificates, so strictly speaking it's vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks.

Thanks for the comments on https issue. Not many sites in our supported list utilize https (rapidshare, picasa, and facebook are the only sites that I know utilizing https), but good to know FRD uses SSL/TLS in https although it accepts all certificates, which is better than plain http.

I think we should add support for https in the template plugin.xml for new plugins by default.

I was going to say it's a good idea except that most sites just error out if they don't have a HTTPS version available.

I tried JumboFiles as an example, but they have an HTTPS version available. But they use an invalid certificate, which FRD would silently accept: [jumbofiles.com]
