See the other post re installing FRD with ESET antivirus first [wordrider.net]

Depending on version of windows "filesList.xml.imported" in one of these direcories
c:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\VitySoft\FRD
c:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\VitySoft\FRD
To uninstall rename all files with ".imported" removing the ".imported",
and delete the FreeRapid-0.9 directory then 0.86u1 will work as before

No, it does mean you are using crappy antivirus blocking FRD to work properly.

Thanks, it worked

To Vity,
I understand you are the developer of FRD and have great pride in it. And yes, FRD is good. But I don't think that this gives you the right to call another piece of software "crappy antivirus" just because yours cannot cope with it and work properly in its environment. Especially since ESSET antivirus is considered to be one of the best on the market.
And if you knew this problem existed, at least you could have posted a warning as to its consequences.

Thank you

It is obviously crappy if it blocks legitimate programs for no reason. I can't take an antivirus software seriously if it makes you choose between using your computer properly with programs you choose and leaving it vulnerable for viruses. It is nothing about pride. Who knows what other programs it blocks?

We have no idea why ESET blocks FRD this way.

We didn't know about this problem either because none of us developers use ESET (for obvious reasons), and no beta testers reported any issues.

Why do people use the worst thing in comparison of other security tools?
Eg. this is a test I made to check obviously infected (not by me) frd.exe few years ago:

It's OK, have it your way. I don't agreee with you, but this is not a life and death issue.
As for the test which shows inconsistencies in virus detection, I can send you tens of similar tests done on various machines, in various environments, by various people, using all kinds of programs. No two of them show the same and what is good in some is bad in others. So I suggest you don't put too much trust in these tests (by the way, statistically ESSET was ranked high, and believe me, I don't hold shares of ESSET stock).

So you think it's OK for an antivirus to block random programs?

Btw. @wasa33 : what's your ESET installation folder?

1. So far ESET hasn't blocked any program on my PC - and I have many programs installed, this being a hobby of mine. So maybe the problem is in your software, after all.

2. The istallation folder is C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus.
